How
would you describe your style?
I do a conservative wedding unless you direct me otherwise. What I mean by that is, I will
not embarrass anybody. I do not try to get the mother of the bride, or anyone else, on the
dance floor with a purple wig and sunglasses or something "cheesy" like that.
This also goes for the music. You will have no surprises with me. I have the Chicken
Dance, Hokey Pokey, Macarena, and many other "iffy songs." I will never play an
"iffy song" unless whoever hired me told me they wanted to hear that music.
I am not getting
married in a church, can you provide music for the ceremony?
Yes. I have the traditional wedding music and can accommodate you. I have done over 100
ceremonies.
If we are not sure of
some wedding etiquette, can you help us?
I would be happy to. You may ask me anything. You may lean on my shoulder as much or as
little as you want.
Are you licensed &
insured?
Yes. As a professional, I carry a $1,000,000 liability policy. I am also licensed. I have
never had a single claim on my insurance policy.
What type of equipment
do you use?
I use professional equipment. I do periodic maintenance and also have backup equipment for
the unexpected.
How many events do you
do a year?
I do about 60-75. Approximately 80% are wedding receptions. The other events I do would be
New Year's, Corporate, and Holiday Parties. Please be concerned when a DJ tells you they
do 100 or 200 events per year. Do you really want to be one of 8-16 weddings that month?
When a "booking agency" tells you they have 5, 10 or even 15 DJ's, do you really
want to be one of 10-25 weddings they are doing that weekend? Maybe you can trust your
wedding to one of them or maybe you just don't want to take the chance. When you hire
Kevin Kramer, you get Kevin Kramer.
How do you dress?
I wear a tuxedo unless otherwise requested by my client.
Do you just play
music?
No. I will do whatever it takes to make your wedding the way you want it. For weddings, I
usually am the one the photographers, videographers, and other professionals come to for
the order of events. I will act as your master of ceremony for everything from
introductions, first dance, father-daughter, toast, cake, all the way through your last
minute at the reception.
Do you take breaks?
No. I guarantee to have music on at the start time and take no breaks. During wedding
receptions, music is usually played the entire time with a few exceptions such as the
toast, blessing, and maybe even the cake cutting. This of course would be up to you.
May we use your
microphone for the toast and announcement?
Yes. I have a cordless microphone for whatever you want.
How accessible are
you?
Very! You may call me at my home or cell phone. You may email me, "snail mail"
me, or fax me. I am here for my clients, and I think that is important for you to know.
May we pick out the
music you play?
Yes. In a normal 4 hour period, I play approximately 60 songs. My philosophy is "more
is better." What I mean by that is the more you tell me what you want and don't want,
the more I can cater to you.
What type of music do
you have & play?
I bring a wide variety of music. Some examples are Jazz, Big Band, Swing, Oldies, Motown,
Country, Rap, Rock & Roll, Current Top 40, Disco, Latin and Dance Mixes, Frank Sinatra
thru today's popular Hip Hop. I bring approximately 5,000 songs. I also have a huge
collection at home and have access to what you hear on the radio.
Will you play requests
my family & friends have?
Yes. As long as it is the type of music you have told me you want.
If I hire you, who do I get?
You get me, Kevin Kramer. I am not a "booking agency". What I mean is - I do not
hire others, pay them a portion of the fee, and " Hope " that all goes well at
your wedding. The promises and commitments I make to you will be done by me and kept by
me.
Will you meet with us so we may interview you in person?
Absolutely. I would be honored to meet with you so you may feel that we are a good fit. I
believe it is important to meet with professionals who will be working for you on one of
the most important nights of your life. You need to feel 110% comfortable with the
professionals you hire.
When will you arrive?
I normally arrive 1 hour prior to contracted start time. If it is a difficult setup or
somewhere I have not played before, I would arrive 1 1/2 hours prior. You are not charged
for setup or break down time.
How far in advance do
you reserve dates?
I book up to 12 months in advance.
When should I reserve
you?
If you want to hire me and I hope you do, I would suggest it as soon as you have your
date. We can always add the location when you decide where. As discussed earlier, I do not
hire others to do your event, so I can only be one place on your date. My suggestion is if
you want me, to reserve your date as soon as possible.
